Recreation -Adult Trips (50+ years)

Adult Trips are for adults, age 50 years and better. NOTE: There is NO REFUND for trips after the registration deadline, the exception is IF there is a Wait List for the trip AND space can be filled. For information about any Adult trips please contact Kathy Forzley at 630-323-2626 or at

Our Program Registration Form is located in the panel to the right. Beginning in August 2014, a "Household" must be established in the system in order to register for programs and trips. The form is available on the Home Page or at the Clarendon Hills Park District office. Click to download & print, then fax to 630-323-5362, mail or walk in. Please Note: Payment for classes is required to reserve a spot.

All trips include transportation on air-conditioned 35 passenger bus. We attempt to give you as much information ADULT DAY TRIPS as possible regarding the amount of walking required during each trip. The symbols below will allow you to make a more informed decision regarding trip registration.

BIKES, BRATS, & BEER (3 shoes)

Spend a day in Milwaukee, as we begin with a self-guided tour of the Harley Davidson Museum, where you can learn about the history of these famous motorcycles. We will continue to downtown Milwaukee, where we will enjoy an authentic German Sampler Platter for lunch at Maders, one of the oldest restaurants in Milwaukee. After lunch we will take a brief tour of the Pabst Brewery, where we will learn the history of the brewery and sample their products (You must be 21 years old). If time permits, we may make a stop at the Mars Cheese Castle for treats. This tour includes deluxe motor coach transportation, lunch, and museum and brewery admissions. What could be more beautiful than spending a fall day in Michigan? We will enjoy the fall colors, as we explore lighthouses, wineries, and fruit of the season. This tour will take us to St. Joseph, Michigan where we will have time to shop and enjoy the lakefront. We will enjoy an Italian lunch at Vivi's (Choice of Chicken Parmesan; Cheese Ravioli, or Spaghetti with meat sauce) and then travel to the Lemon Creek winery for tastings. We will stop at the produce barn at Lemon Creek so you can purchase apples in season as well as homemade goods. Don't forget your camera! Join us for a tour of this magnificent private estate showcasing the world's finest collection of Automatic music instruments, phonographs, arcade and gambling machines, movie palace chandeliers, Tiffany lamps, art glass and more. This 3 hour Docent-guided tour includes a mini concert on the world's largest theatre organ (the 8000 pipe Sanfilippo Wurlitzer) and a visit to the Carousel Pavilion, which houses Fairground and Dance organs, an 1890 Eden Palais Carousel, and various steam engines. There will be places to sit during the tour. After touring this estate, we will travel to the converted ice house, where we will lunch at Chessie's in a restored train car. You will have time to shop after lunch in the unique shops at the ice house. Meal choice of Roast Loin of Pork; Crusted Tilapia, or Baked Penne Pasta. Remember the magic of seeing Chicago all lit up for the holidays? Relive those days as we take a driving tour of the city, complete with stops at Millenium Park to see the tree and ice skaters; the Christkindel Market where you will have time to shop or grab a hot drink; and the Lincoln Park Zoo lights. You are not required to get off the bus at any stop if you choose. We can take a waitlist and get a bigger bus if needed. There is no meal on this trip, but snacks will be served on the bus. Let's ring in 2019 with a toast and a light lunch, finger foods and desserts, while we relive the fabulous 50's with historian Jim Gibbons. The 1950's was the decade of Rock and Roll, the postwar boom, the Korean War, and Civil Rights. It was the decade of Elvis, Bill Haley and the Comets, and poodle skirts. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from all of us at the Clarendon Hills Park District! Join us for an afternoon of good friends, and outstanding entertainment as we spread some holiday cheer. Please bring a small gift ($10 non-gender) for our grab bag. Priority is given to Clarendon Hills residents. Pre-registration at the Park District Office is required.
