Recreation - Rainbow Club (50+ years)

Rainbow Club Trips are for adults, age 50 years and better. No refunds will be granted for any trip after the deadline, unless there is a waiting list and someone can take the place from that waiting list. This policy is designated to protect the Park District and its quality of programming.

Chicago Tastee Tour

Experience the culinary delights of Chicago as we tour the Kendall Culinary Institute (as well as enjoying th edelicious lunch). We will enjoy stops at a choclate shop, a spice market, and an oil and vinegar emporium. We will tour the Merchandise Mart to view displays of kitchens and home furnishings. We will stop at a Mexican Bakery for tastings and coffee, and finish the day at Eataly, the latest food sensation off the Magnificent Mile. If you enjoy good food--this is the trip for you.

WEST SIDE STORY AT DRURY LANE

Experience one of the world's greatest love stories and the winner of three Tony awards. This modern retelling of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet tells the story of two star crossed lovers caught between rival gangs. This beatiful score includes, "somewhere", "Tonight", " I Feel Pretty", and "America". This tour includes transportation and lunch choice of: roast strip loin beef with mushroom sauce or tilapia with tomato bruschetta. Shake off those winter blahs and spend a great afternoon enjoying this wonderful show! (KF)

CHICAGO: HISTORY & HORTICULTURE

We will begin our day with a stop at the Chicago History Museum for a guided tour of the “Chicago Crossroads of America” exhibit, showing how the Chicago culture and innovations had a great impact on the growth of cities. You will have time to explore the rest of the museum on your own. We will then have lunch at the famous Anne Sather Swedish Cuisine, where you will choose your lunch from a variety of options. Our next stop is the beautiful Lincoln Park Conservatory; known as a “Paradise under glass”. There are four different houses to tour, one of which is the home to the annual flower shows. Shake off those March blahs and enjoy the culture and beauty Chicago has to offer. (KF)

PARIS ON THE PRAIRIE with My Kind of Town Tours

Join us as we learn and explore the many influences that the French, and Paris in particular, had on Chicago. This fully guided tour will include a drive by Buckingham Fountain, and the Monument with Standing Beast, both inspired by French artists; and a stop at the beautiful works of Chagall’s Mosaic, "Four Seasons", which portrays six scenes of Chicago. This design was created in Chagall’s studio in France and transferred onto full-scale panels. We will also make a stop at a French bakery, and enjoy a fresh French Country Lunch while enjoying a 90 minute Cabaret, where you will enjoy the musical journey of one of America’s favorite singers with her world class cabaret. We will end the day wandering through Chicago’s French Market, one of the newest treasures of the city. This performance based tour is not to be missed! (KF)

THE BEST OF MILWAUKEE

Spend a beautiful day in Milwaukee, as we enjoy good food, some history, and some Milwaukee spirits. This tour will include a tour of the Pabst Mansion, as well as the Pabst Brewery. We will visit the historic St. Joan of Arc chapel, located on the Marquette University campus, and we will enjoy a great lunch at the famous Mader’s restaurant (Choice of Bratwurst/Knockwurst; Goulash; or Vegetable Primavera). You will have time to stop at some of the shops, as well as Usinger’s Sausage. This tour includes deluxe motor coach transportation, lunch, and all tours. A full day, but one not to be missed! (KF)
