Recreation - Rainbow Club (50+ years)

Rainbow Club Trips are for adults, age 50 years and better. No refunds will be granted for any trip after the deadline, unless there is a waiting list and someone can take the place from that waiting list. This policy is designated to protect the Park District and its quality of programming.

EXPLORE SHIPSHEWANA SITES & QUILT GARDENS

Enjoy a day in Indiana Amish country exploring the town of Shipshewana, which hosts the largest flea market in the Midwest. We will continue to Middlebury, making a few stops along the way to enjoy the beautiful quilt gardens. These gardens are planted to match a chosen quilt pattern and are planted in annuals. We will eat a late lunch at Das Dutchman Essenhaus, which includes a family style Amish meal. This tour includes deluxe motor coach transportation, tour, and all you can eat family style meal. There will also be time to explore the shops at Das Essenhaus! (KF) Deadline to sign up for this tour is Tuesday, June 9th.

MEIJER GARDENS & SCULPTURE PARK AND GERALD R. FORD MUSEUM

This amazing day takes us on a guided tram tour of the Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park, where you will explore the inside houses which offer plants from different climates, and the sculpture galleries. Lunch is on your own in the Taste of Gardens Café, before we board the tram for a guided tour of the perimeter of the gardens. Afterward we will head to downtown Grand Rapids to tour on our own the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum and grave site. Lastly we will head to Michigan City, Indiana for an all you can eat buffet dinner. This tour includes deluxe motor coach transportation, all tours and admissions, and an all you can eat buffet dinner. (KF) Deadline to sign up for this tour is Tuesday, July 7th

GOOD OLD SUMMERTIME INDOOR PICNIC

Spend a beautiful summer day with good friends, great food, and outstanding entertainment! What’s more fun than a picnic without the ants? Please join us! You must be a resident of Clarendon Hills. Preregistration at the Park District is required.

Non-resident guests will be placed on a waitlist, and will be welcome if the luncheon doesn’t fill.

THE PRIDE OF OREGON RIVERBOAT

This 2-1/2 hour tour includes lunch aboard the boat. After docking, we will visit the Blackhawk statue, located in Lowden State Park. We will shop in downtown Oregon at Conover Square, which used to be a piano factory. Before heading home we will make a dinner stop (dinner on your own).

JOLIET MYSTERY TOUR

We will begin our day touring the Rialto Theatre in Joliet, a beautifully restored 1920’s Vaudeville Theater. We will be treated to a tour or an organ concert on the Barton Grande Theater Organ. We will travel to the Jacob Henry Mansion, where the mystery will begin. Our personalized mystery is filled with intrigue, suspense, and fun, and the best is yet to come when the killer turns out to be one of you! This mystery tour also includes lunch. Additionally, we will tour the Jacob Henry Mansion and the Joliet Historical Museum.
